Saturday 18 November - Friday 22 December
An exhibition of recent work by Nichola Campbell who draws inspiration from the natural world and from living near the seashore interpreting familiar subjects in her colourful, decorative style. The exhibition tells a story of the things we enjoy, escape to, wonder at and respect.
Through her love of history Nichola aims to convey an understanding of these familiar subjects with a fresh approach that engages the viewer. Colourful, and with a playful use of pattern she aims to evoke moods, seasons and eras.
The vibrant colours in her work are achieved with inks which she combines with watercolour pencils and decorative papers which she uses experimentally through collage. This exhibition will reveal the most recent developments in her work.
Nichola is from Sussex and studied Art in the late 1980’s in Eastbourne and Brighton. She returned to Sussex in 2012 and re-started painting. She lives with her family in Newick, East Sussex.
Nichola will also be running one of our special 'Meet the Artist' art classes this winter. Places are limited and must be booked in advance, please contact Museum Staff on 01903 738100 or at email@example.com for more details.
