Schools' Art Show 2017

Saturday 10 June - Friday 30 June

Hearne Gallery

We are delighted that our popular annual ‘Schools’ Art’ exhibition is back for its 14th year. As ever, the display will provide a riotous show of colour as we showcase carefully curated works of art all created by local schoolchildren.

The 9 schools taking part this year have been led by Madeleine Vaughan, Littlehampton Locality Business Management Advisor, and are:

Arundel C of E Primary                            St. Mary’s C of E Primary

Lyminster Primary                                     St. Philips Catholic Primary

River Beach Primary                                 Summerlea Community Primary

Rustington Community Primary            White Meadows Primary Academy

St Catherine's Catholic Primary

This year, local schools have been studying the inspirational book ‘Wonder’ by R. J. Palacio, which tells the story of a young boy with a rare facial deformity. The theme of identity runs throughout the book, and the children have designed and created masks to express their own thoughts about identity. These beautiful masks are as varied and unique as the children who made them, and will be displayed together in the Museum’s Hearne Gallery to create a powerful effect.
