Exhibition: Nets, Wrecks and Artefacts (2017)

Saturday 06 January - Friday 02 March

Hearne Gallery

When we think of archaeological sites we usually conjure up images of sandy deserts, muddy hills, or windy coastlines. But have you ever thought about the archaeology that comes from under water?

This January, the Fishing Industry Protocol for Archaeological Discoveries, managed by Wessex Archaeology, is coming to Littlehampton. This exhibition will feature a fantastic array of artefacts discovered under British waters by fishermen. From cannonballs to mammoth bones, there will be something for everyone. Come along and learn more about this intriguing project!

Alistair Byford-Bates from Wessex Archeology will be giving a public talk on the exhibition on Thursday 8th February.
